About MDV-SEIA's Executive Director

Anne Polansky, a native of Washington, DC, is a seasoned science and policy analyst, advocate, and grassroots activist with a strong commitment to achieving a sustainable energy future. She brings eight years of experience (1991-98) at national SEIA under the leadership of Scott Sklar as a congressional lobbyist and policy analyst. While serving as professional staff for the US House of Representatives Science Committee (1987-91) she played a hand in amending the Clean Air Act and in crafting and passing the Global Change Research Act and the Oil Pollution Act. Since ‘98 she has consulted for multiple non-profit organizations including Climate Science Watch, Rocky Mountain Institute, and the Organization for Tropical Studies. In 2004-05 she built her own “green energy” home in Takoma Park, MD, and identifies green building as one of her favorite personal hobbies.
